OnePlus 9RT vs OnePlus 9R – Which is the Best One for You?

The OnePlus 9R was launched in April as a reasonable and appealing option for smartphone users who did not want to spend more than Rs 40,000. Then the 2021 launches rolled down, and the OnePlus 9R was no longer as competitive as it had been– it had simply become the most affordable way to get a taste of the premium OnePlus experience. In August 2021, rumours about a OnePlus 9RT are making the rounds on the internet. The 9RT is expected to be a slight improvement to the 9R, according to reports.

In this article, we will discuss what are the differences between the OnePlus 9RT and the OnePlus 9R and which one will be the best for you.

What’s New in the OnePlus 9RT?

Android 12

The upcoming OnePlus 9RT will come with Android 12 pre-installed out of the box. This will be the first OnePlus device to get the Android 12 which will be called OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12. On the other hand, the OnePlus 9R came with Android 11.

User Interface

You might also see some modifications in the OxygenOS as OnePlus has merged with Oppo. You can expect to see similar changes in the user interface in the OnePlus 9RT as it was done with the OnePlus Nord. This means all the upcoming devices from OnePlus will see some touch of ColorOS in the OxygenOS.

50 Megapixel Camera

The next thing on the list is the camera. You will see an all-new 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 camera on the latest OnePlus 9RT compared to the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 camera on the OnePlus 9R. This new 50-megapixel camera is the same camera sensor used in the OnePlus Nord 2. The new 50-megapixel sensor will enhance the nighttime capabilities of the camera. This new camera in the OnePlus 9RT will fulfil all the shortcomings that the OnePlus 9R had.

Conclusion

OnePlus 9RT won’t be a major upgrade over the OnePlus 9R, with only a bit of improvement in different areas like performance, camera and OS. The most important thing to note would be the price that it would launch at. If you are waiting for the OnePlus 9RT for a performance upgrade, I won’t recommend you to do that. Whereas if you prefer camera performance and want a good camera, the new OnePlus would definitely be a better choice.
