YouTube Playables Brings Arcade Games For Premium Users

YouTube has announced its new Playables feature for Premium subscribers. The new feature lets users play mini-games on the YouTube app and website. It is rolling out to all YouTube premium users across the world.

The new Playables feature brings arcade titles to its premium users. This feature will be available within its dedicated shelf on the YouTube mobile app and desktop site.

Furthermore, the Google-owned company is also sending notifications to premium users to enable Playables from the Labs section. It will be available until March 28 2024, according to the banner.

There are two tabs in the YouTube Playables: Home and Browse. Users can continue playing their previous game at the home tab or find the list of popular titles.

On the other hand, the browse tab lets you scroll through the complete list of 37 games on offer. These include titles like Angry Birds Showdown, Brain Out and Daily Solitaire.

These YouTube Playable games can be played within the app or website, as you don’t need to download them on your device. The video streaming site is planning to rival Netflix, which offers a similar curation of games for its Premium users.

Netflix introduced its Games library back in 2021, and it includes more than 50 exclusive mobile games, including some premium offerings. These titles are included with a Netflix membership and do not include any in-app purchases, ads or fees.

There is a chance that YouTube will expand its Playables games library in the future, although the feature is available till March 28 next year. It could become a permanent feature if it becomes popular, unlike Netflix Games, which has yet to gain traction.
