Xiaomi 14 Could Be First Phone To Run On Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Qualcomm is expected to launch its upcoming chipset – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 at the upcoming Snapdragon Summit.
The Xiaomi 14 could be the first phone to feature this powerful chipset and run on MIUI 15 based on Android 14. According to the report, the Chinese giant will give a teaser about the Xiaomi 14 series after the Summit, with a proper launch taking place later this year.

Based on the 4nm architecture, the new chipset features a Cortex X4, 5 Cortex A720, and 2 Cortex-A520 cores. According to leaked benchmarks, it offers up to 20% improvement in multi-core and 10% in single-core scores. Speculations suggest the chipset will feature the X75 5G modem, an Adreno 750 GPU, and support UFS 4.1 storage.

The Snapdragon Summit takes place in October, and Xiaomi will launch Xiaomi 14 sometime in November. This means that the Xiaomi 14 might be the first phone in the world to feature Qualcomm’s latest chipset.
Given that Apple launches its new iPhone in September, it is only natural to assume that the other companies will follow suit in October-November of this year. Speculations suggest that a stable version of Android 14 will release next month, thus giving Xiaomi some time to develop MIUI 15 based on the latest version of Android.
Xiaomi 14 Expected Specifications
The Vivo X90 Pro+ took the lead as the first phone to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 last year. It was subsequently followed by the IQOO 11 and the Xiaomi 13 series. However, the Xiaomi 14 series could be the first to release with the flagship processor this year.

The Xiaomi 14 will feature various upgrades over its predecessor, with improvements in the camera and battery. It will ship with a new 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, which is bigger than last year. It is accompanied by a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom along with an ultrawide sensor. The battery will be bumped to 4860 mAh from 4500 mAh. There is support for 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
