WhatsApp started offering free cloud-based API services earlier this week. A recent report also claims that WhatsApp Premium, a subscription-based model, is also exploring for WhatsApp Business.

WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo recently reported that the social media app has begun rolling out a beta update that allows users to Request Account Info on WhatsApp desktop. Until today, the feature was only available on WhatsApp for Android and iOS. This strategy allows business accounts to pay a flat fee for a variety of services and capabilities.

Users will only be able to use the Request Account Info on Desktop function. One can use this feature after updating their WhatsApp desktop beta to the most recent version. It was first identified in development in the v2.2204.1 beta version, but was not visible to testers at the time. Even now, according to the article, the capability may only be offered to a select group of beta testers.

In 2018, WhatsApp added the Request Account Info tool for Android and iOS as part of the company’s GDPR compliance efforts. However, consumers may have to wait a little longer before they can download it. All activity information, contacts device data, and privacy settings will be including in the report.

WhatsApp said this week that it will begin offering free cloud-based API services to encourage more businesses to adopt the app. WhatsApp already offers an API, or application programming interface, that allows businesses to link their systems to the service and engage in customer service chats, generating cash for Meta.

According to a recent source, WhatsApp Premium, a subscription model, is also testing for WhatsApp Business. This strategy allows business accounts to pay a flat fee for a variety of services and abilities.

Owners of WhatsApp Business profiles are apparently able to opt out of WhatsApp Premium and instead utilize the current version. According to the first mention of a subscription plan in April, the functionality would allow organizations to connect up to ten devices after subscribing to a plan.
