Samsung today announced its much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S22 series. As usual, the new Galaxy S22 series comprises the Galaxy S22, S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, the brand also announced three new tablets with the Tab S8 series, including the Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra. But what’s more interesting is that this is the first S-series to have a built-in S Pen in one of the variants. It also brings new storage variants to the series, along with improved camera setups, photography features, and a promise of four years of OS updates.

Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra Price, Availability
The two variants in the series will be available in 8GB RAM +128GB, and 8GB+ 256GB storage options. Meanwhile, the high-end Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will be available in 8GB RAM + 128GB, 12GB RAM + 256GB, 12GB RAM + 512GB and 12GB RAM + 1TB storage options.

Now, in terms of pricing, the vanilla variant’s pricing starts at $799 (roughly Rs. 59,900) and the Galaxy S22 Plus is priced at $999 (roughly Rs. 74,800). However, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra pricing starts at $1,199 (roughly Rs. 89,700). Now, details about the pricing of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra in India are still a mystery. Meanwhile, availability-wise, the smartphones will be available from February 25, 2022.
Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ Specifications
The vanilla variant comes with a 6.1-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. Whereas the Galaxy S22 Plus has a 6.6-inch screen. Both phones support a 120Hz refresh rate and come with a peak brightness of 1300 nits.
Furthermore, both these phones have a triple-camera setup. There is a 50-megapixel main camera along with a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera sensor and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, 30x Space Zoom. For selfies, there is a 10-megapixel front camera. Like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra model, both devices come in Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and Exynos 2200 SoC options. They boot Android 12-based One UI 4.1 out of the box.

In terms of battery, the vanilla Galaxy S22 has a 3,700 mAh battery with 25W fast charging and 15W wireless charging support. Samsung Galaxy S22+, on the other hand, has a 4,500 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support along with 15W wireless charging support.
Galaxy S22 Ultra Specifications
Now, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the first S-series smartphone to feature an S Pen built into the phone’s body. It flaunts a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with a QHD+ resolution. The screen is curved and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The Ultra model also gets the brightest display on any phone with a peak brightness of 1750 nits. It has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for protection against drops and scratches.
Furthermore, the display of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is also equipped with updated Wacom technology. This is in order to support the improvements to S Pen functionality including reduced latency. The phone is powered by an octa-core 4nm SoC, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM. In addition, the phone runs Android 12-based One UI 4.1 out of the box. It has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra flaunts a quad rear camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens. The smartphone also sports a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/2.4 aperture lens and support for 3x optical zoom. It also comes with a fourth 10-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/4.9 aperture lens and 10x optical zoom.

The camera supports Space Zoom, like its predecessor, with 10x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom with AI Super Resolution technology. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 40-megapixel camera sensor in the front with an f/2.2 aperture lens.
The phone packs a 5000 mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging, 15W wireless charging. It also comes in Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and Exynos 2200 SoC variants, depending on the region. In India, Samsung is rumoured to launch the phone with a Snapdragon chipset.
