The Power (1) is a 3-in-1 portable with wireless charging 65W fast charging to juice up your laptop and phones while also functioning like a power bank on the go. It has Nothing’s transparent design language with a compact square form factor small enough to fit inside a pocket.
Despite so many features, the product never saw the light of the day. It was planned to be released after Nothing Ear (1) TWS when the company had a limited team size and resources.

“This would have been a great product for Nothing in 2021, but in 2023, our ambitions are a bit bigger”, said Carl Pei. It went through various stages of R&D, planning and development, but there were a lot of challenges and issues the company had to face.
Nothing Power (1) Got Cancelled Due To Various Issues
Since the company was primarily familiar with designing a smartphone, it had to face a lot of complications during the development of Nothing Power (1). There were issues with the thermals and durability of the product.

“Now I think it’s a really, really beautiful paperweight. I would love to have it on my desk again. I think first of all, it looks really, really cool, and secondly, it’s a reminder of not being too arrogant, of being serious and respectful of everything you’re trying to do,” said Pei.
The story of Nothing Power (1) is an inspiration showcasing the hard work and dedication behind designing a product. While the device never saw the light of the day, other products from the company have become wildly successful.
