Motorola has teased the launch of its new smartphone the Motorola Moto ThinkPhone ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023. This is the first time that the company has acknowledged the launch of the device. Additionally, the company also revealed that it will launch its first business-grade phone at the global annual tech event. The tech event will take place between January 5, 2023, and January 8, 2023, in Las Vegas.
The brand has teased the rear panel design of the ThinkPhone which reveals that it has a textured rear panel that curves into the frame. Moreover, the use of antenna lines on the frame suggests the use of metal. Additionally, the image reveals that the smartphone will have “ThinkPhone by Motorola” branding at the bottom edge.

Motorola ThinkPhone: Design
The image of the upcoming smartphone was shared by the company on Twitter. This gives us a sneak peek into the design of the upcoming ThinkPhone. The phone has a thick body with a textured back panel. It appears as though the frame is made of aluminium due to the presence of antenna lines. Moreover, a red-coloured button can be seen on the side. However, the company hasn’t clarified the function of the red button. The phone also features a flat display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre.
Specifications
Some leaks and rumours suggest that the upcoming smartphone will feature a 6.6-inch OLED display and 144 Hz refresh rate. The handset will likely come with a triple rear camera unit including a 50-megapixel primary camera. Along with 13-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera. Additionally, it may feature a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies and video chats.
The smartphone will likely come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC and up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card. Sources suggest that the smartphone will support 68W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. Information on the battery capacity is not yet available, however, we can assume it to range between 4500-5000mAh battery. It is most likely to run on Android 13 out of the box. We can expect to get more information from the company about the pricing and availability of the handset in the coming days.
