The Moto X40 will likely launch today in China on December 15, 2022. The event will be streamed live via the brand’s official Weibo handle and its China website. The teaser image shows that the event will witness two phone launches. One of them can be the Moto X40 which has been in a rumour for a long time. Moreover, via multiple teasers, the brand has already revealed some specifications and designs of the device.

How To Watch Livestream?

The launch event will start at 7:30 pm local time (5:00 pm IST) in China. You can witness the whole event on the company’s official Weibo channel and website. Also, the brand has started revealing the specifications and design of the new phone via Weibo and a microsite. You can also pre-book the device on Lenovo.com and JD.com.

Leaks suggest that The Moto X40 can come in two variants 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256 GB. Some sources suggest that the phone may be the successor to the Moto Edge X30, launched in December 2021. It was priced at CNY 3,199 (roughly Rs. 38,000) for an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. In that case, we assume that the Moto X40 will also be around the same price range.

Moto X40: Expected Specifications

As confirmed by the company, the phone is to come with a 6.67-inch curved display and centrally aligned hole-punch cutout for a selfie shooter. The device can support a 165Hz of refresh rate. Moreover, it comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, based on the 4nm process technology.

Regarding the camera configuration, the smartphone must come with a triple rear camera setup. With a 50-megapixel primary camera, the Moto X40 offers high-quality photos, videos, and optical image stabilisation (OIS). Additionally, a 32-megapixel front camera can come in the device for selfies and video chats.

Moreover, the Moto X40 has an IP68-rated build for dust and water resistance. The two variants offered by the company offer varied battery capacities- 4,600mAh with 125W fast charging and a 5,000mAh battery.
