Krafton Bans Huge Number Of BGMI Accounts For Cheating: Know The Full Story

The developer team for Battlegrounds Mobile India has in a rather surprising move banned several accounts either permanently or temporarily. Krafton has recently announced they have 25 lakhs BGMI accounts banned for cheating. In addition, BGMI has also temporarily banned over 700,000 players. Now, all of these accounts ban has happened in a roughly 40-day time frame. Although this is not the first time it has banned accounts. Krafton previously banned about 88,000 accounts in a week in October, and 1,40,000 accounts in September.

“Krafton is constantly taking major efforts to eradicate cheating on cheaters on Battlegrounds Mobile India. In line with its efforts, Krafton now has cleaned out most of the cheaters in the game, making BGMI a much more fun experience, and will continue to take whatever steps are necessary to keep BGMI fair and fun,” the developer said in a Facebook post.

From October 1, 2021 to November 10, 2021 – the BGMI team has permanently banned 2,519,692 accounts and temporarily banned 706,319 accounts for cheating. The developer has also talked about four steps that it will double down on going forward:

  • Stronger Cheat Detection to detect cheats in near real-time and ban accounts using illegal means.
  • The BGMI team will now permaban first offenders, instead of handing out temporary bans.
  • The team will manually verify and ban high-ranking accounts that have used or promoted illegal programs.
  • The developer will monitor YouTube in real-time to block channels that promote illegal cheating programs.

Although banning BGMI accounts seems like a good solution. But many cheaters create new accounts to play the game again. Unlike PC games, the BGMI team cannot access root files to block devices since it is a mobile game.
