Apple will launch the iPhone 15 series at its Wonderlust event on September 12th. The new iPhones will have many new features, including a new Type-C port and an Action Button. However, these improvements could result in a higher cost, and the iPhone 15 Pro models will get a price hike.
iPhone 15 Pro To Be $100-$200 More Expensive
According to a report by DigiTimes analyst Luke Lin, the iPhone 15 Pro Models are rumoured to be more expensive and will get a price of hike of $100-$200. The Apple iPhone 14 Pro currently starts at Rs.1,29,999 in India and $999 in the USA. Similarly, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max retails at Rs.139,900 and $1,099 in the US.

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro will get a $100 increase in price, meaning it will start at $1,099 (around Rs.91,300), whereas the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max will be $200 more expensive and begin at $1,299 (around Rs.1,07,900). The cost increase accounts for the more premium build and better cameras.
iPhone 15 Pro Model To Have Titanium Chassis and Periscope Lens
The iPhone 15 Pro models will feature a titanium chassis and a periscope camera. The titanium build will result in better durability as it will have a higher strength-to-weight ratio and be less corrosive when compared to stainless steel. This is the same material as the Apple Watch, and the titanium version of these watches is more expensive than the steel variant.

On the other hand, the Periscope lens will debut for the first time on an iPhone. This will allow up to 10x optical zoom without a noticeable photo quality dip. However, Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra have had this feature for a long time, and Apple will introduce it on iPhones for the first time. Due to the addition of this lens, the iPhone 15 models could become more expensive.
Other features like the new USB-Type C port, new Action Button and the A17 Bionic Chip could also be potential reasons for the increase in cost. Despite the price hike, Apple expects strong demand from consumers and Pro Models could be among the highest-selling models from the 15 series.
