Apple has launched iOS 15.5 for iPhone users, only weeks before the start of WWDC 2022, where iOS 16 is likely to make its premiere. Apple Wallet and Podcasts both get new experiences in iOS 15.5. It also includes a list of security patches, which may help Apple in dealing with regulatory pressure on in-app purchases. Apple has released iPadOS 15.5 for eligible iPad customers in addition to iOS 15.5. The company has also released macOS Monterey 12.4 to address the poor quality of Studio Display monitor.

New Features in iOS 15.5
According to the official changelog, iOS 15.5 has an upgraded Apple Wallet app. It allows Apple Cash card users to transfer and request money instantly. Apple Podcasts now has a new feature that allows you to restrict the number of episodes saved on your iPhone and erase outdated ones automatically. Furthermore, the latest iOS update fixes an issue that was causing home automation to fail when people arrived or leave. The new iOS version also addresses an issue that caused the iPhone SE (2022) to shut down unexpectedly in some circumstances.

This iOS also increases Apple’s Communication Safety in Messages feature. It was first introduced in the United States to prevent youngsters from viewing or sharing nudity-containing photographs. It now includes Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. According to The Apple Post, Apple announced the additional features in the iOS 15.5 release notes available to customers in certain countries.
In addition to Communication Safety, the beta version of iOS 15.5 had references to enabling support for applications with “external purchases.” This might potentially allow developers to divert users to third-party pricing platforms to pay the subscription amount.

New Features in iPadOS 15.5
Similar to iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5 contains the new Apple Podcasts app, which offers a choice to restrict the number of episodes kept on your iPad and erase old ones automatically. There are also security updates that address some of the identified flaws.
New Features in macOS Monterey 12.4
Support for Studio Display Firmware Update 15.5 has been added to macOS Monterey 12.4. The software upgrade is likely to increase noise reduction, contrast, and framing on the Studio Display panel, allowing for better camera tuning.
The Apple Podcasts app in macOS Monterey 12.4 provides a choice to restrict the number of episodes kept on your Mac and automatically remove older ones. Furthermore, Apple has highlighted security patches on a separate help website.

Apple has published new software versions only weeks before its WWDC 2022 conference, where iOS 16 and other new operating systems are scheduled to be unveiled. The annual developer conference will be held on June 6 this year.
