The company has teased a Redmi branded audio system through a put up on Twitter. Though the teaser doesn’t clearly reveal the audio peripheral, it tells that the upcoming product might be a wireless system, most likely a pair of true wireless earphones. The headset comes just days after the company released its first true wireless earbuds in the Indian market — Mi True Wireless Earphones 2, along with the Mi TV Box 4K and the company’s flagship Mi 10 smartphone.
It seems the company is looking to exploit on the TWS segment in the country. Though Redmi is yet to confirm its name of the product, we assume it will either be the 2019 Redmi AirDots or newer Redmi AirDots S.
Redmi true wireless earbuds use 7.2mm drivers for better audio output and DSP noise cancelling feature for calls is available when speaking with this headset. It supports voice assistance i.e. Google and Siri voice assistance and comes with Bluetooth 5.0 chip, which Redmi claims gives double the data transmission as compared to its predecessor. It connects to the phone immediately when you remove from the case.

The earbud weighs just about 4.1g. As for the battery, the 40mAh battery on the headset delivers 4 hours of backup on a single charge, whereas the 300mAh battery on the charging case offers 12 hours of battery backup facility.
The Redmi AirDots S were launched in China last year priced at CNY 99.9 which is approx. Rs 1,000 in Indian money and if this is coming to India, we can expect the device to be priced under Rs 2,000.
The company did not announce the launch date, we should get more information soon.
