After over a month of leaks, teasers and renders flooding the internet, the OnePlus 8 series is finally here. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, OnePlus insisted on an online-only event and announced its next-gen 2020 flagship series with numerous tweaks and additional features to make the device compete with other mighty flagships in the market.

OnePlus 8 Pro Specifications
Talking about the company’s ‘ultra-Premium’ OnePlus 8 Pro launch, we see the device to get a curved matte-glass back. It boasts a gorgeous 6.78” QHD+ curved AMOLED panel (3168*1440) with a boosted 120hz refresh rate and 240hz touch sampling rate. With a claimed peak brightness of 1300 nits, the panel gets HDR 10+ along with an A+ rating from Display Mate, breaking 13 records.
Power department is what gets the most spotlight. So as expected, there is the Snapdragon 865 under the hood paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. IP68 rating, Wi-Fi 6 and dual-stereo speakers are the icing on the cake.
Camera department also gets an upgrade. The OnePlus 8 Pro gets a rear quad-camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary camera with Sony IMX689 sensor, 48MP ultra-wide sensor, a 30X telephoto lens and a newly introduced, unique colour filter camera. The front camera gets a 16MP shooter embedded in a small 3.8mm diameter punched-hole. For videos, there is both OIS and EIS along with three microphones, aiming at the best video shots.

Battery department becomes more impressive than ever. The device gets a 4510mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T support, which gets charged up to 60 per cent in 30 minutes. For the first time, we get to see support for wireless charging (Warp Charge 30 Wireless) and reverse wireless charging in any OnePlus device.
OnePlus 8 Pro launch price comes at $899 for the 8+128GB variant whereas the 12+256GB variant gets a launch price of $999. Although the Indian pricing hasn’t been revealed, the OnePlus 8 Pro launch price in India converts to approx. Rs. 69,999 and Rs. 75,999 respectively.
The device gets Ultramarine blue, glacial green and Onyx black as the colour options.
