With OnePlus introducing wireless charging for the first time since the launch of the OnePlus One, the possibility to introduce a wireless charger was also expected. For those who don’t know, the OnePlus 8 Pro gets to feature a 4510mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T support along with a Warp Charge 30 Wireless charging support and reverse wireless charging support. Unfortunately, the regular OnePlus 8 doesn’t get wireless charging.
Not only the smartphone line-up, the Wireless charger from OnePlus also seems to be a flagship level accessory. Though it’s just a simple wireless charging dock, it looks very modern and stylish. The body is mostly plastic with a silver frame running along the boundary. There’s also a tiny blue LED placed at the centre of the chin and that’s all.

Now, what’s different? The wireless charger ought to dissipate heat with such impressive charging speed. And for the same reason, we also get a cooling fan housed at the back of the wireless charger. It will not only keep the charger cool, but will also aid in keeping the temperature of the OnePlus 8 Pro in check, by pitching cool air at the back of the device. The charger claims to juice the OnePlus 8 Pro to 50 percent in just 30 minutes, thanks to Warp Charge 30 Wireless charging technology.

The fan will obviously produce noise, especially at night, but we think that it can be neglected. But here’s an interesting catch, there’s a night mode in the charger which will lower the charging speed thereby turning off the fan so that you get a nuisance-free sleep at night. The wireless charger meets Qi wireless standards, which means we can also charge other Qi-compatible phones, although at a slower 5W charging speed.
The OnePlus Warp Charge 30 wireless charger launch price comes at $80 (around Rs. 6,000) in the US and we hope to get it in India too. Users can also buy the charger pad only, i.e. without the stand, for $70 (around Rs. 5,300).
