From a design standpoint, there are some noteworthy differences between Nothing Phone 1 vs Google Pixel 6A. The semi-translucent back of the Nothing Phone (1), which reveals part but not all of its internals, contributes to its unconventional appearance. Additionally, the back of the device includes a glass finish and LEDs that are part of the Glyph Interface and can be customised to display notifications.

Two camera lenses can be found in the top left corner of the back of the phone, while the top left corner of the front has a flat display, a fingerprint reader embedded in the screen, and a punch-hole camera. The edges are smooth, similar to the iPhone 13 models, and the Nothing Phone (1) is available in black and white and has an IP53 rating for water and dust protection.

So, for the Nothing phone 1 vs Google Pixel 6A design comparison, Nothing Phone 1 is the clear winner.

Nothing Phone 1 vs Google Pixel 6A: Display Comparison

Now, let’s talk about Nothing Phone 1 vs Google Pixel 6A display comparison. The Pixel 6a follows the trend of Google’s budget smartphones, which often keep to smaller screen sizes. Given its low price, it has respectably thin screen bezels and is quite compact at 6.1-inches. The 2400 x 1080 resolution is also spot-on. It uses an OLED panel, the same as other Pixel phones, for incomparable contrast.

Nothing Phone 1 has increased in size beyond a 6.55-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400-pixels. The hole punch camera has been relocated to the upper left corner from the centre, as it was on the Pixel 6a, and bezels are even on all four sides. Although the overall pixel density may be lower than the Google phone, there isn’t anything to complain about.

Refresh rate is a significant differentiator. Given that the more costly Pixel 6 sports a 90Hz panel, it is not surprising that Google remained with a standard 60Hz for the Pixel 6a. After all, there must be a motivation to take the initiative. The issue is that Nothing can go all out with Phone 1 since it doesn’t have to balance a range full of various devices (yet, at least). Its 120Hz panel will make browsing across websites and social media feeds considerably smoother.

So, for the Nothing phone 1 vs. Google Pixel 6A display comparison, Nothing Phone 1 comes out on top.

Nothing Phone 1 vs Google Pixel 6A: Battery Comparison

When we consider the battery comparison, the Nothing Phone 1 beat out the Pixel 6a by virtue of its marginally larger battery. The Pixel 6a only has a 4410mAh cell, whereas it has a 4500mAh one.

Additionally, the Tensor CPU in the Pixel uses more energy than the Snapdragon 778G. Even though we don’t yet know how well optimised each phone is, we’re thinking Phone 1 will hold up a little better when not connected to the mains.

When it comes to charging, Nothing Phone 1 remains the winner as it has a 55W fast charging support that charges the phone super quick. The Pixel 6a does not enable any type of wireless charging and is only capable of a meagre 18W. Clearly, Nothing Phone 1 is the winner here.

In the Nothing Phone 1 vs. Google Pixel 6A: Camera Comparison, cameras proved to be a significant differentiator.

Although both smartphones have two rear cameras (one primary and one ultrawide), the Pixel 6a appears to have an advantage due to its two 50MP sensors. With only two 12MP sensors, Google’s phone won’t be able to resolve as much information. Glyph lighting, which is advantageous for close-up photographs and may be used as a fill light, is also available for Phone 1.

The number of pixels is just part of the picture, of course; the amount of light that each pixel can collect depends on the size of the sensor, and Google is an expert at getting the best images out of their equipment. With the ability to carefully balance image brightness by stacking many exposures, its algorithms perform amazingly in dim lighting.

We have to give this one to Google based only on our experience, but we’d be pleased to be proven incorrect if Nothing is able to successfully execute some computational photography of its own.

The Nothing Phone 1 will not have Face ID, but it will have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor built into the display. In terms of features and connectivity, the features and connectivity of the Nothing phone 1 vs Google Pixel 6A are nearly identical.

The Google Pixel 6A is available in three colour variations, Sage, Chalk, and Charcoal. While Nothing Phone 1 will also be available in three different colours: Black, Gray, and Blue.

Nothing Phone 1 vs Google Pixel 6A: Final Takeaway

Even while we’re confident that the Pixel 6a will be an excellent Android deal, we can’t help but feel that Nothing pulled a fast one by setting the price for its first offering so low. It may lag behind in some areas, but the fact that it gives Google the finger (at least based on the spec sheets) is quite astounding.

It has a great advantage in daily use because of its distinctive appearance, quick charging, and distinctive glyph lighting. Whether that is sufficient to balance out the Pixel’s more powerful processor and stellar algorithmic photography record? We’ll leave that up to you, but if we had to bet, we’d go with Phone 1.

Hopefully, the Nothing phone 1 vs Google Pixel 6A specs comparison will assist you in selecting the ideal phone for your needs.
