If you have ever tried transferring your WhatsApp data from Android to iOS, you know it is tricky. It is because the platform uses different services for backup on different platforms. However, now it looks like it is trying to simplify the process of moving from an Android to an iPhone. Apparently, its’ feature in the works will make it possible to backup chats on one platform and then restore them on another. Now, a report is hinting towards the development of this kind.
Until a few months back, only Samsung devices had this feature specifically the Galaxy smartphones. But, in a recent development, the WhatsApp chat migration feature is now available for all Google Pixel smartphones. Moreover, they have also confirmed that the feature will become available on all new smartphones that launch with Android 12.

However, it looks like a stable update might still take quite a bit of time. This is because it is a complex process to transfer data from Android to iOS for WhatsApp. This is major because iPhones store all the data in iCloud while Android devices store the data in Google Drive.
Furthermore, there is a chance that users may need to connect both the devices (Android and iOS) for the chat data transfer to be possible. Even Android users may also need to install Apple’s Move to iOS application on their devices. Meanwhile, this feature is already available for Samsung Galaxy and Pixel devices as of now. But this step could bring many Android users who want to shift to iOS but do not because they can’t access their WhatsApp chat data.
