How It is Different From Google Pay
Google Pay is a payment platform with some features that overlap with Google Wallet. However, it is a more comprehensive digital service for payments. “Google Wallet complements Google Pay, which will continue to serve the payment needs of users across India. Google Pay continues to be the app for all payment needs,” said Google in the press release.
Moreover, Google Wallet in India allows contactless payments using NFC (Near-Field Communication). The app is compatible only with smartphones that support NFC. In addition, the app only works with debit and credit cards, unlike Google Pay, which offers UPI facilities for users.
