  • Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G in a number of markets last week. The focus will now shift to the Galaxy S22 series, which is expected to launch in January 2022. The major features of the next Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones have been revealed in a big leak by reliable tipster Ice Universe.

    Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Leaks

    The Galaxy S22 will have a 6.06-inch LTPS FHD+ display, while the Galaxy S22 Pro will have a 6.55-inch LTPS FHD+ display, according to the source. While the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 6.81-inch LPTO screen with a Quad HD+ resolution. All three phones are likely to feature a refresh rate of 120Hz.

    The Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Pro will have a 50-megapixel (primary with f/1.55 aperture rating) + 12-megapixel (ultrawide) + 12-megapixel (3x optical zoom) triple camera unit. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will include four cameras: a 108-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 12-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel periscope zoom lens with 10x optical zoom.

    The Samsung Galaxy S22 will have a 3,800mAh battery, while the S22+ will be backed by a 4,600mAh battery. The S22 Ultra will have a larger 5,000mAh battery. According to a previous leak, the S22 series would have support for 65W fast charging as well as vapor chamber cooling. The S22 series will be a slight upgrade over the S21 lineup in terms of design.

    According to Tron, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 898 mobile platform. The Exynos 2200-powered S22 lineup with AMD mRDNA GPU will be available in select markets.
