Samsung is taking technology to the next level with its latest developments and experiments. It worked previously to bring a 200MP camera sensor. Taking a step further, Samsung announced it was working to develop a 576MP camera sensor. Such a high-resolution camera will give its user an ultra HD image.
The South Korean manufacturer, Samsung is featured as the first company in the world to launch a 108MP smartphone camera. It is currently used in several phones, including Samsung’s own flagship devices. Samsung recently also announced the world’s first 200MP camera sensor, called the Samsung ISOCELL HP1. It also launched a 50MP sensor with Dual Pixel Pro technology that features multi-directional focusing.

Samsung 576MP Camera
Samsung is currently working to develop the 576MP camera which is scheduled for unveiling in 2025. In the SEMI Europe Summit, Samsung Electronics Senior VP of Automotive Sensor, Haechang Lee, previewed the entire timeline of the company’s Pixel Scale. The same presentation revealed the fact that Samsung is planning to launch the 576MP camera sensor in 2025. The timeline reveals the year 2021 for a sensor with greater than 108MP which Samsung delivered: the 200MP ISOCELL HP1.
As per reports, the upcoming Samsung 576 camera sensor might not be used in smartphones but rather in automobiles. The company is not limited to automobiles even, rather plans to take it on drones, and IoT devices. However, it may be in the books of Samsung to use the camera sensor in mobile phones later on.

Samsung is working hard to improve its pixel binning technology, which can be put up in the 576MP sensor. This upcoming sensor reportedly has 0.8µm pixels and is 1/0.57″ big. This points towards a large camera bump if used in mobile phones. Samsung is trying to not limit itself to smartphones and to find more sensor applications outside the niche.
