Facebook and Ray-Ban collaboration has been in the books for quite some time now. The social-media giant announced their collaboration with leading glass maker, Ray-Ban, last year itself. Both the companies have been working on releasing a smartglass for a year now. Finally, that has come true and the Ray-Ban Stories smartglasses are official now. Snapchat has unveiled their AR glasses as well way back in 2016. Earlier this year, the social media company had also unveiled their smart glasses.
Ray-Ban Stories has launched as the very first smartglasses made by Facebook. In other news, the social-media giant has also been working on releasing a smartwatch. Rumours of a Facebook smartwatch being in development have been making rounds of the internet for quite some time now. We can expect to see that come to reality soon as well.
Ray-Ban Stories Price and Availability
Ray-Ban Stories price starts at $299 USD which converts to roughly Rs. 21,984 in the Indian currency. When it comes to the availability of the product, it is available only in select regions for now. These regions include US, Canada, Australia, UK, Italy and Ireland.

Moreover, in these regions, the smartglass is available for purchase in twenty different style combinations. The latest smartglasses by Ray-Ban and Facebook can be purchased online as well as select retail stores in these regions. Sadly, nothing has been revealed about the India or Asia availability of the smartglasses as of now.
Ray-Ban Stories Specifications and Features
The Snapchat glasses had AR but the brand new RayBan Stories come with prety much everything other than AR. Starting off with its specs, the smartglasses come with two 5-megapixel camera sensors. Now, these two sensors are placed one on each lens. In addition, as a privacy feature, the glasses come with LED lights as well to indicate when the user is recording videos via the smartglasses.

Further, the newly launched Ray-Ban Stories come with voice support as well. The smartglasses achieve that with the help of a triple beamforming microphone setup. There is an in-built Facebook Assistant which users can use via this microphone setup.
The Facebook Assistant can be accessed via a dedicated button on the glasses themselves. You can use commands like, “Hey Facebook, take a video,” and the smartglasses will start recording. Moreover, this microphone setup comes in very handy when taking calls via the glasses.

In order to use the newly release smartglasses, users need to have a Facebook account. Further, they have to then download the Facebook View app. Now, using this particular app, users can control the Ray-Ban Stories. Moreover, images clicked via the smartglasses can be directly shared on Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and a variety of different apps.
