Earlier this year, Realme had talked about adding more to their 5G smartphones portfolio in the Realme 5G Summit. The company is sticking to their promise as they have finally launched their Realme 8s 5G. In addition, the company has also launched the Realme 8i model in India. What started off with the Realme X 50 Pro 5G being the first 5G smartphone in India has now become a vast portfolio filled with devices from the Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 40,000 price segment in India by Realme. Here is a quick rundown of the Realme 8s 5G, Realme 8i price and specs in India.
Realme 8s 5G, Realme 8i Prices in India and Availability
The Realme 8s price in India starts at Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant. On the other hand, the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option comes with a price tag of Rs. 19,999. However, Realme is offering introductory prices of Rs. 12,599 and Rs. 13,999, respectively. The smartphone comes in the Universe Blue and Universe Purple colour options. When it comes to offers, there is a flat Rs. 1,500 discount on HDFC Bank Credit and Debit cards and EMI options. In addition, there is also a flat Rs. 1,500 discount on ICICI Bank Credit card and Credit card EMI options.

On the other hand, the Realme 8i price in India is set at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant. Meanwhile, the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant comes with a price tag of Rs. 15,999. The smartphone comes in the Space Black and Space Purple colour options. Offers on the smartphone include a flat Rs. 1,000 instant discount on HDFC Bank credit, debit cards and EMI options. There is also an instant Rs. 1,000 discount on ICICI Bank credit card and credit card EMI options.

Display and Software
The Realme 8s 5G comes with a 6.5-inch full-HD+ 90Hz refresh rate display. In addition, the display comes with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. Moreover, we can also see a peak brightness of 600 nits along with 16.7 million display colours. The smartphone’s display comes with a 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio as well. When it comes to software, the smartphone runs on Android 11 with the Realme UI 2.0 custom skin on top.
Processor and Storage
On the processor front, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G processor. Moreover, this is the very first smartphone in the world to be powered by this 5G chipset from MediaTek. The chipset is based on industry-leading 6nm process. The octa-core chipset comes with two high capacity ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz. In addition, the other six cores are ARM Cortex A-55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Further, the chipset pairs up with the ARM Mali-G57 GPU.
The smartphone comes with up to 8GB of RAM which can be expanded up to 13GB via the Dynamic RAM Expansion feature. Meanwhile, the 6GB RAM variant can be expanded up to 11GB of virtual RAM. Now, the RAM is coupled with 128GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.
Camera Setup
For photos and videos, the Realme 8s 5G features a triple rear camera setup. The setup includes a 64-megapixel primary Nightscape sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 alongside a B&W Portrait sensor of aperture f/2.4. In addition, there is a third 4cm macro sensor in the setup which comes with an aperture of f/2.4 as well. At the front, the device sports a 16-megapixel AI Beauty Selfie shooter. The smartphone packs a big 5000mAh battery with 33W Dart Charge fast charging support. According to the company, the battery when fully charged offers up to 727 hours of standby, 122 hours of music, 48 hours of calling and 28 hours of WhatsApp. When it comes to dimensions, the Realme 8s 5G comes with a thickness of 8.8mm and weighs 191 grams.
The Realme 8s 5G packs all the essential connectivity options as well. These include dual-SIM 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi + 5G dual network acceleration, USB Type-C port for charging and more. Lastly, the device comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
Realme 8i Specifications
The Realme 8i comes with a 6.6-inch full-HD+ display, which is larger than the Realme 8s 5G. Moreover, we can also see a 120Hz refresh rate on the device which is more than that of the 90Hz refresh rate of the 8s. In addition, the display on the device sports a 100 percent DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The smartphone comes with a 1 nit Night Mode as well for a comfortable viewing experience at night.
Under the hood, the Realme 8i is powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 SoC. Moreover, this is the very first smartphone in the world to come with this processor. The octa-core chipset is based on a 12nm architecture process. The smartphone will also come with up to 11GB of Dynamic RAM Expansion support.

Moving to the camera setup, the Realme 8i features AI triple rear cameras. The setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a B&W sensor and a 4cm macro sensor. Now, the smartphone comes with a brand new dual view video feature. This allows users to capture video for vlogging and other content simultaneously from both the primary and front sensors.
The smartphone packs a big 5000mAh battery, similar to that of the Realme 8s 5G. However, it comes with a slower 18W fast charging support. When it comes to dimensions, the Realme 8i measures 8.5mm in thickness and weighs 194 grams. Going by this, the Realme 8s 5G is indeed slimmer and lighter in comparison.
