Qualcomm has announced its new mid-range chip called the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 with on-device AI features. The new processor promises 15 per cent faster CPU performance and 50 per cent faster GPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Offers 60 Per Cent Faster AI Performance
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor is based on TSMC’s 4nm process and has 1+3+4 architecture. The chipset has one Prime core clocked at 2.63GHz, three performance cores at 2.4GHz and four efficiency cores at 1.8GHz.

Qualcomm claims it offers 15 per cent faster CPU performance and 50 per cent faster GPU gains than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The company is positioning this chipset as a middle ground between the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and 7s Gen 2.

Furthermore, the new Qualcomm Hexagon NPU can deliver 60 per cent improved AI performance per watt and is 20 per cent more power efficient. The new Qualcomm Sensing Hub can recognize your routines to optimize apps based on your schedule.
It Comes With Snapdragon Elite Gaming Features
The 7 Gen 3 supports up to 16GB LPDDR5 memory clocked at 3200MHz and UFS 3.1 storage. Furthermore, it can power a 4K display at 60Hz refresh, WFHD+ at 168Hz and WQHD+ at 120Hz. Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 enables users to recharge their phone up to 50 per cent in just five minutes.

The new Adreno GPU has Snapdragon Elite gaming features such as Snapdragon Game Super Resolution for upscaling. Moreover, you also get HDR Gaming and Adreno Frame Motion Engine. With the new Adreno GPU, you get support for Open GL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.3, and OpenCL 2.0 FP APIs.

The 7 Gen 3 comes with the Snapdragon X63 5G Modem-RF and Qualcomm FastConnect 6700 for connectivity. It offers 5G dual sim dual active connectivity and Wi-Fi speeds up to 2.9 Gbps for connectivity. You get 5GmmWave and sub-6GHz support, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

When it comes to photography, the new processor packs the Qualcomm Spectra triple ISP, which offers support for a 200-megapixel sensor. It can shoot 4K HDR videos at 60FPS and also comes with Google Ultra HDR format support.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 also has features like AI Remosaic and AI Video Retouch for reducing grain and discolouration. This new chip will make its debut in smartphones from Honor and Vivo, with the first devices launching later this month.
