To recall, Xiaomi unveiled MIUI 13 at the Xiaomi 12 series launch event in China in December 2021. A month later, the company officially teased to announce the latest version of its mobile operating system in international markets. It launched globally on December 26, 2022. Now it has finally launched in India. This MIUI version as we know bases itself on Android 12 and shares many of the underlying features and refinements. Moreover, Xiaomi has also added in several new treats and refinements of its own. Let us look at what more it brings and its rollout schedules below:

MIUI 13 Features
Xiaomi MIUI 13 Global brings ‘Atomized Memory, Focused Algorithms, Liquid Storage and Smart Balance’ to devices. All innovations that Xiaomi introduced with MIUI 12.5. However, the company is not implementing some changes, such as MiSans font, new widgets or support for Google’s Material You design language. Additionally, the global version of MIUI 13 also introduces Sidebar, which Xiaomi describes as providing ‘Quick access to all your favourite apps. Although, the Sidebar is already available in MIUI 12.5.
Atomized Memory, Focused Algorithm
Atomized Memory feature is a RAM optimization engine. It brings RAM efficiency to a new level as per the company. The feature basically analyzes the way apps use memory. It also closes all unimportant tasks to ensure a smooth user experience. Xiaomi MIUI 13 Global Focused Algorithm dynamically allocates system resources based on the usage scenario, which makes the user experience more fluid and responsive. Focused Algorithms prioritizes the active app which allows the CPU to focus on important tasks and provide faster speeds and higher performance.

Liquid Storage
It is a new system-level method of managing the way files are stored on devices. Xiaomi claims that the new technique reduces fragmentation and actively manages stored data. It will be improving defragmentation efficiency by up to 60 per cent. Users can expect up to 95 per cent of the total improved read/write speeds even after three years. In comparison, other Android OS skins decrease this by 50 per cent, according to the company.
Widgets, Smart Balance
It also looks like it is more similar to that of iOS widgets. Xiaomi MIUI 13 will allow users to choose between 2×1, 2×2, 2×3, 4×2, and 4×4 sizes for an array of system apps including Weather, Security, Clock, Notes, and more. It also offers the Smart Balance feature which finds a balance between performance and power consumption automatically. Xiaomi also claims that the Smart Balance feature in MIUI 13. can help users extend the battery life by up to 10 per cent.

The update will also reach other Xiaomi and Redmi phones in the future. Although details about those are yet to be revealed.
