  • The MediaTek Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810 5G SoCs have been announced as the most recent additions to the Dimensity 900 and 800 series portfolio. Both chipsets are octa-core, 64-bit chipsets with high refresh rate displays, heterogeneous multi-processing, and multi-camera capabilities. The MediaTek Dimensity 920 supports Wi-Fi 6, while the Dimensity 810 supports Wi-Fi 5. The Dimensity 810 SoC focuses on mainstream mid-tier phones, while it is currently unknown which handsets will be the first to use it.

    Dimensity 920 SoC Details

    The MediaTek Dimensity 920 is a 6nm SoC featuring one set of Arm Cortex-A78 and Arm Cortex-A55 CPU cores, clocked at 2.5GHz and 2.0GHz respectively. When compared to the Dimensity 900, the CPU is combined with an Arm Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, and the SoC is reported to give up to 9% better gaming performance. LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM, as well as UFS 2.1 and UFS 3.1 storage, are all supported. It has Wi-Fi 6, 5G, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, NavIC, and other features for connectivity. The Dimensity 920 SoC can handle displays with a resolution of 2,560×1,080 pixels at up to 120Hz. It can encode video in H.264, H.265/HEVC formats. The chipset can handle a single 108-megapixel camera or two 20-megapixel sensors, and it can shoot 4K video.

    Dimensity 810 SoC Details

    The Arm Cortex-A55 and Arm Cortex-A76 CPU cores in the MediaTek Dimensity 810 have a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz each. It’s a 6nm processor with eight cores and an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It supports LPDDR4x RAM, while UFS 2.2 is the only storage option. It has 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.1, NavIC, GPS, and other connectivity features. The MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC can handle either a single 64-megapixel or twin 16-megapixel camera sensor. It can support displays with resolutions of up to 2,560×1,080 pixels and refresh rates of up to 120Hz.
