Jio revealed its JioGlass at the Indian Mobile Congress 2023 in New Delhi. These smart glasses possess AR and VR capabilities, adding to Jio’s growing catalogue of a wide range of products. The company showcased the product at its pavilion in IMC 2023.
JioGlass Features And Specifications
The JioGlass are a futuristic pair of glasses that weigh just 69 grams and can offer you a glimpse into the future with its Mixed Reality (MR) capabilities. The glass has two lenses and a sleek metallic frame connecting them. Thanks to the USB-C port, you can easily connect your smartphone, which will also double as a power source for them.

The current glass version requires a wired source, although a wireless version could arrive in the future. You can connect any device to the glasses, whether it is a smartphone, console, laptop or any other peripheral that supports USB-C display output.
These Glasses Offer A 100-inch Virtual Screen
JioGlass can showcase a 100-inch large virtual screen in front of your eyes, providing an immersive experience for watching your favourite TV shows, movies, sports matches or playing games. Apart from servicing as a power source, you can also use your smartphone as a controller to navigate the interface.

The resolution of the lens for each eye is 1080p, and these can be detached to convert them into Augmented Reality (AR) glasses. Attaching the flaps again will allow you to enjoy Virtual Reality (VR) content.

The JioGlasses also allow you to open three virtual screens at once for seamless multitasking so you can attend your online meeting, show your presentation and browse the internet simultaneously.

It also has a trackpad that allows you to control the volume and brightness by swiping the glasses. Furthermore, the JioGlass has dual stereo speakers built-in and a microphone for taking voice calls on the go. It packs a 4,000mAh battery lasting up to 4 hours on a single charge.

The company claims it will offer an immersive “gaming and learning experience” with an extensive set of educational apps. It also has a dedicated app store called JioImmerse XR store, which offers “India’s largest 3D content and app library for entertainment, learning, gaming, and more.”
JioGlass Price & Availability In India
While there is no information on the pricing and availability, the JioGlasses are listed as coming soon on the company’s website. It offers an Early Access Programme where those interested can apply and sign up to try the glasses.

There are two versions of the glasses, one for consumers and the other for enterprise users. The JioGlass will likely arrive in India by the end of this year, possibly in the next two months.
