Instagram now allows users to record Reels for up to 90 seconds, up from the previous maximum of 60 seconds. Reels made its entry about two years ago, just after TikTok was banned in India. This is the first time Instagram is expanding the duration limit for its short video platform Reels since then. Instagram has also added themes, interactive stickers, new sound effects.

The photo-sharing platform Reels has undergone a number of adjustments since its inception in India to improve the overall user experience. By including these elements, Instagram hopes to make Reels more participatory than ever before.
Instagram Lets Users Record Reels For 90 Seconds
Instagram is adding these features in the wake of accusations that ByteDance is working with partners to bring TikTok back to the United States. The firm has yet to issue any public statements. Instagram says it wants to give users more room to express their visuals and stories by raising the length limit to 90 seconds.

In an official blog post, Instagram stated, “You will have more time to reveal more about yourself, record more behind-the-scenes films, dig deeper into the details of your content, or whatever else you choose to do with that extra time.” Instagram introduced a new alert function called Amber Alert earlier this week, which lets users to read and post reports of missing children in their area.
