The smartphone is still available at a reasonable price a few years after its launch. The phone was out on October 16, 2020, as a replacement to the OnePlus 8. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, which, while being a few generations old, is a competent CPU.
Though, and this is a huge but, when you consider the competition, buying the OnePlus 8T in 2022 isn’t a good idea. Smartphone manufacturers have recently released a slew of devices priced under Rs 30,000.
The new iQOO Neo 6 5G, the Motorola Moto Edge 30, the Xiaomi 11i 5G HyperCharge, and a few other options are all available. For nearly the same price, some of these gadgets provide better hardware. Furthermore, when it comes to software, these devices come pre-installed with the latest Android 12 version.

This also indicates that future handsets under Rs. 30,000 launched in 2022 are expecting to have longer software support. The OnePlus 8T has received the Android 12 upgrade.
The phone, on the other hand, was released with Android 10 on top of Oxygen OS 10. As a result, the 8T is unlikely to receive any more software updates in the future. The best-case scenario is that the phone will receive Android 13 soon, but no official word has been given on this.
