Kryptowire released a press statement saying that the vulnerability allows intruders to gain access to call and system logs, text messages, contacts, and other private data, video record the device’s screen or use the device’s external-facing camera to record video, or even take control of the device remotely, altering or wiping data.

According to Kryptowire, the Chinese manufacturer UNISOC and handset manufacturers and cellular carriers were all notified of the vulnerability; however, UNISOC has not replied as of yet.

According to a spokesman for Kryptowire, Nokia has patched the vulnerability on the affected phones, according to TomsGuide. Other UNISOC SC9863A-powered smartphones, on the other hand, have not yet received an upgrade.
