EA Games has teased the next iteration of its popular multiplayer shooter, Battlefield 6. The game will mark a return to the modern setting with a campaign unlike Battlefield 2042. Furthermore, EA is also introducing Battlefield Labs and also showcased a glimpse of the gameplay features. Battlefield 6 Playtest Begins Ahead Of Release Date
Battlefield 6, the FPS franchise’s next instalment, will be released this year. According to a report, the Battlefield 6 could have a release date in October 2025.
The closed playtest for the game will begin next week, and interested players can sign up on their website. Furthermore, the company has announced Battlefield Labs community testing.

The game is currently in the alpha stage, and participants of the closed playtest will be asked to sign an NDA. Battlefield 6 will be a “return to the roots” with a modern setting and a single-player campaign.
After the disastrous launch of its predecessor, Battlefield 2042, the company wants to ensure that the new Battlefield does not meet the same fate. With a reduced player size of 64 players, it will have destructible environments, better maps, and a conventional class system.

EA also showcased a glimpse of the pre-alpha gameplay, which shows a chaotic multiplayer lobby with destructible buildings, bomb shelling, and more. Furthermore, Battlefield Portal is also making a return with classic maps in Battlefield 6.
If you wish to sign up for the playtest, do note that there is a queue of 33,000 people currently, so it might be a while before you get a chance. Battlefield 6 will release on a date later this year on PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC.
