Previous rumours already claim that iPhone 14 models launching in 2022 might not have a physical SIM Card Slot. It is possible that Apple might remove the physical SIM slot starting with some iPhone 14 models. Now, in a new rumour, it looks like the company is planning to remove the notch on Apple iPhone 14 Pro models. However, the conflicting rumours on this are causing confusion in terms of design. A new render has surfaced online showcasing a dual punch-hole cutout design on the Pro models.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Models Rumours
According to display industry consultant Ross Young, Apple iPhone 14 Pro will feature both hole-punch and pill-shaped cutouts near the top of the display. Moreover, Young said the hole could be for the Face ID dot projector. Whereas, the pill-shaped cutout will supposedly house the front camera and Face ID infrared camera at a minimum. The renders shared by Ross Young, who is the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), claims that this will “not [be] similar to all the pill models from Huawei”.
However, previous rumours hinted that Apple iPhone 14 Pro models will get rid of the notch. Instead, it will have a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera. Whereas, the sensors for the Face ID feature could be hidden behind the screen. Now, reports claim otherwise saying Apple has opted for a design with two cutouts on top of the screen.

Interestingly, this will be the first time Apple will get rid of the notch for the front-facing sensors since the launch of the iPhone X in 2017. Although they have only made some minor changes since then to the notch. In related news, just last week, rumours of its pricing surfaced online. According to a tipster, Apple iPhone 14 Pro models will reportedly come with higher pricing. This is due to the increase in production costs. He also says that “there has to be more than a $100 difference between the [iPhone] 14 Max and the [iPhone] 14 Pro”.

Meanwhile, even though, Young has proven to be a reliable source of display-related information for future Apple products. We cannot be really sure of this information until it comes from the company directly. But we can surely assume it to hold some truth in the meantime.
