The wait is now over. Google has finally launched it’s “Daydream View” Virtual Reality (VR) headset in India. With this release, the tech giant is attempting to establish its hold on to the surging virtual reality market in Asia. The headset along with its controller is priced at Rs. 6,499 and will be available on Flipkart.
The headset is loaded with tons of features. The developers have promised splendid high-quality experience along with a complete 360-degree view. Clay Bavor (VP of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality at Google) says “Our aim is to make the VR experience mobile so that customers can easily carry it anywhere with them. We at Google are also working with developers, smartphone companies, and content creators to make VR accessible to all.”
The headset comes with a controller. It is integrated with sensors, to detect all the user’s movements and gestures. All these features allow the user to interact with the virtual world in a way just like the way they would do in reality. The Apps and games that come along with Daydream are Guardian VR, Netflix VR, Within, Fantastic Beasts, Turning forest, and Google Play Movies etc.
Compatibility
As of now, the first phones that will support this technology are Google’s Pixel, Pixel XL and also Moto Z. Samsung S8 and S8+ will soon be able to support this technology too.
Launching offers at Flipkart include: First 30 purchasers to get a Google Chromecast free and first 50 purchasers to get will receive Google play store credit of Rs. 500. Also, PhonePe users to buy Daydream headset through UPI payment will get a discount of Rs 300.
