In addition to the 59 Chinese apps which were banned in India in June 2020, the apps by Xiaomi and Baidu are reported to be banned this week. As reported by Reuters, Mi Browser Banned in India, which is the default web browser on any Xiaomi phone.

Chinese Apps Banned in India
The Indian government banned 59 Chinese originated apps, including, TikTok, UC Browser, ShareIT, Shein, Club Factory, and other highly used ones in June. Amid the Anti-Chinese sentiments, the government banned other 47 Chinese applications, which were allegedly the clone to some of the original 59 apps.

Recent reports claim that 274 more Chinese apps are inlined to be banned, including PubG. Xiaomi’s Mi Community app was one of the 59 Chinese Apps Banned in India. If it is true that Mi Browser Banned in India permanently, the company has to change its practice of pre-installing Mi Browser on the Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones.

The number of Chinese Apps banned in India this week is still under the shade. It is expected that the government will release the list of those applications soon. One of the Xiaomi spokespeople showcased concern to the situation and said that the company was understanding the development and will take appropriate measures.
