One of the major highlights at the WWDC 2020 was the launch of watchOS 7, the latest operating system version for Apple Watch. Apple managed to include a tonne of features in its watchOS 7 including a new face-swapping gesture that allows users to actually download the watch faces they like on social media or developer’s website instead of searching it after checking it on your friend’s Apple Watch.

Another major update that Apple Watch will be getting with watchOS 7 is dance-tracking. It is something out-of-the-box where Apple Watch will use its accelerometer and gyroscope combined with its heart rate sensor to track a wide range of dance types that can be added in the workouts later.

Next up, we have a new feature called Sleep Tracking that although it was available with many of Apple Watch’s competitors, Apple took some time to roll it out on its wearable and it is refined as ever. It uses machine learning to track your sleeping pattern and learn from it giving you an in-depth analysis of it. Unfortunately, Apple didn’t discuss much this feature so we have to wait until it rolls out officially.

Next up, watchOS 7 now gets a hand washing tracking feature that uses machine learning, microphone, and accelerometer to detect if the user is washing hands and shows a 20 seconds stopwatch which is something that the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends in this pandemic.
