Yahoo is venturing into the smartphone industry by launching its first Android smartphone. This was made in collaboration with the parent company, Verizon. Moreover, Verizon announced this piece of information on Wednesday. For those who do not know, Yahoo is actually owned by Verizon. The ZTE Blade A3Y is available on the Verizon network. Furthermore, the smartphone was launched as a part of Yahoo Mobile’s unlimited phone service as well.

Yahoo Mobile ZTE Blade A3Y Specifications
The Yahoo Mobile ZTE Blade A3Y comes with preinstalled applications. These apps include Yahoo Mail, News, Sports, Finance and Weather. When it comes to the cameras, the smartphone comes with a single rear camera setup. The setup includes a single 8-megapixel rear camera with a dual flash. Additionally, the Yahoo smartphone comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a flash.
Moreover, the Yahoo smartphone runs on Android 10 OS. The entry-level smartphone comes with a decent 5.45-inch 720p HD display. Furthermore, the chipset in the smartphone is paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Additionally, the smartphone features a fingerprint sensor at the back as well. The smartphone also comes with face unlock support.

As mentioned before, the entry-level ZTE Blade A3Y price in the US has been set at just $50.

Yahoo Mobile had launched way back in March. They were announced with unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE data for $40 a month. Moreover, this was the final price with taxes and fees included. Additionally, there are a variety of benefits that customers will get. Customers who buy the entry-level phone can take advantage of the company’s mobile service plan. This service plan includes ad-free email with Yahoo Mail Pro as well. Besides, users also get an unlimited mobile hotspot feature for one connected device at a time.

Verizon Media CEO, Guru Gowrappan also stated that the company will expand the benefits going by what customers want. He hinted at the availability of Yahoo Finance Premium service and the Yahoo Sports service.
He further stated that, “A lot of consumers love our products, and they want to go deeper in terms of our relationship with them.” Additionally, he says that these types of benefits could appear in the next year or two.
