With the launch of the Redmi Note 9, Xiaomi has completed the Redmi Note 9 series line-up and we now have three members in it – the Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.
Redmi Note 9 Specifications
So, as expected, the specifications are decent enough. They definitely justify the fact that the Redmi Note 9 is the stripped-down version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.
The Redmi Note 9 has the same IPS LCD panel. It gets a 6.53-inch FHD+ dot-display with a punch-hole in the centre and a resolution of 2340*1080 pixel. The screen has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Xiaomi has however continued with a 60Hz refresh rate on the display.

The device comes with a curved back bringing the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, unlike the side-mounted sensor on the ‘Pro’ variant. The back comes in Forest green, polar white and midnight grey finishes
With a major focus on improving the performance, the Redmi Note 9 packs an MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, paired with up to 128GB of internal storage. IR blaster, 3.55mm headphone jack and NFC (specific models) is also supported.
Redmi Note 9 Camera department includes a familiar looking quad-camera setup at the back with a 48MP primary camera, followed by an 8MP ultrawide camera with 118-degree field of view, a 2MP macro camera and a 5MP depth sensor for portraits. The punch-hole on the front wraps the 13MP selfie camera.

Redmi Note 9 battery comprises a huge 5020mAh battery which claims 17 hours of video playback. The battery is backed by a 18W fast charging via the 22.5W charger and a USB Type-C cable in the box.
Redmi Note 9 launch price starts at $199 (approx. Rs. 15,000 for the 3GB+64GB variant whereas the 4GB+128GB variant is available at $249 (approx. Rs. 18,000). Availability in India is yet to be announced.
