The OnePlus Nord officially launched with the OxygenOs 10.5 on July 21. The OnePlus Nord will receive software updates for the next two years and security updates for the next three years. It will receive the Android 11 update in this year itself and Android 12 in 2021. Furthermore, it is also possible that the device receives the Android 13 update in 2022. This can be expected as the OnePlus 3T also received four android updates.
The OxygenOS 10.5.1 was released a day after the release of the phone. This improved the depth sensor and indoor image quality of the camera. The update also improved the power efficiency of the device for 4K recording.
The OxygenOS 10.5.2 came out a few days later with optimizations for OnePlus Buds. There were other improvements as well.

The 10.5.3 came out in early August and brought minor improvements in overall system stability.
The August 10th 10.5.4 was a good update as it increased the launch speed of the gallery app. Furthermore, it enhanced the display experience and fixed an issue of music playing in the background while using the front camera. The update also improved color accuracy, the video call quality and more.
On the 24th of August, the OxygenOS 10.5.5 came out. This update fixed system bugs and improved the image clarity of the front camera and macro sensor.

The 54MB 10.5.6 update brings with it several anticipated fixes which have been bothering users. To start off, the OxygenOS 10.5.6 update fixes a very annoying Bluetooth issue. In this, the device was automatically disconnecting with a paired device after a while. This was causing a lot of issues for the users like the ability to use wireless headphones or transfer files. Wireless headphones would automatically get disconnected after a while. This has been the topmost software problem with OnePlus Nord which this update fixes.

Furthermore, the update brings optimized image stabilization. This improves the overall performance and stability of the camera. Also, users will see an overall improved power consumption of the device. While the previous update mainly focused on macro camera improvements, this update focuses more on Bluetooth connectivity issues and image stabilization.
