From the numerous leaks online, Xiaomi 12 smartphone series might launch sometime in December 2021. However, no confirmation has come as of yet. Although this particular launch timeline suggests that it will launch just as the Snapdragon 898 SoC is unveils. Meanwhile, other rumours such as the brand working on a Xiaomi 12 Ultra are also rife. Interestingly, another rumour online suggests that there could be another Ultra variant in the pipeline with the moniker Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra, 12 Ultra Enhanced Specs Leaks
According to tech blog Xiaomiui, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Ultra Enhanced code are on the same ROM and source. Both phones have the codename ‘Thor’ and ‘Loki’, respectively. The Xiaomi 12 Pro reportedly has a codename, Zeus. These phones will pack Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8450 (Snapdragon 898) SoC under the hood. If earlier speculations prove to be true, this will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Apart from this, Xiaomi 12 Ultra is likely to pack a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 primary camera. But there’s a little chance of the device featuring a 200-megapixel snapper. The main sensor will come with three more 48-megapixel cameras with 2x, 5x, and 10x zoom capabilities. The report says the phones are expected to bring 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x, and 120x zoom in photos.
For videos, the phones will have a 15x zoom as well. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra and 12 Ultra Enhanced may feature a next-generation in-display fingerprint sensor. Aside from that, both handsets are likely to come with a next-generation in-display fingerprint scanner. However, chances are these phones might be China exclusive. The phones are likely to launch in Q2 2022, just like the Mi 11 Ultra.
