  • Xiaomi 12 Ultra is gearing up to launch soon. To recall, the company launched its’ latest flagship Xiaomi 12 series in China back in December 2021. But the launch lacked the Ultra variant in the lineup. As of now, the series consists of three devices – Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12 Pro. However, since its launch, the Ultra variant has surfaced online quite a lot revealing some details. Now, in a recent leak, a listing suggests something very interesting about its processor.

    Xiaomi 12 Ultra to pack Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC?

    According to Xiaomiui.net, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra has appeared on the IMEI database with the model number 2206122SC. The phone is also speculating to have the codename Xiaomi L2S. Now, this listing on IMEI suggests the smartphone might just feature the successor or upgrade of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Moreover, it may debut sometime in the second half of the year.

    Although the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC is yet to launch, we can expect it to be around the second half of 2022. As this is when the Plus variants of the SoC’s usually launch. The listing also reveals the device has an unnamed Qualcomm SM8475 SoC. Previous reports suggested that the phone could come with 120W fast charging and include a 4,860mAh battery, 5x periscope-shaped lens, and no secondary display. The rear design of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra also appeared online.

    Previously renowned Weibo tipster, Digital Chat Station revealed, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra would not be offering any upgrade over its predecessor when it comes to sensors. The 50-megapixel+48-megapixel +48-megapixel configuration will be retained in the upcoming flagship. In addition, it may come with a 5,000mAh battery unit and 120W HyperCharge fast charging support. However, there is no other information available on the device right now.
