“WhatsApp voice notes are one of the most popular features for WhatsApp users worldwide. They bring you closer to friends and family than a text message and unlike a call, give you the freedom to message – and for them to listen – when it’s most convenient,” the company said in a statement.
“They are also the easiest and quickest way to send a message. Especially when you really want to get an emotion across, time is tight, or you’re juggling other tasks,” they added. The company has recently rolled out a new privacy update to prevent unknown contacts to see a user’s last seen and online status. Apart from WhatsApp voice notes, more interesting features may be on the horizon. WhatsApp confirmed it was in the early stages of developing a new voice transcription feature. This feature could one day allow you to read a transcription of a voice message rather than listen to it.
