WhatsApp has been working hard to add new features and improve existing ones. The messaging company, which is owned by Meta, is continuously working to bridge the feature gap between its platform and competing services like Telegram. The messaging app has increased the number of users who may join a group chat to 512, increased the file sharing limit, provide the option to migrate conversation history from Android to iPhone, and added message answers.
Now, the company is taking a step forward by allowing users to mute or message certain people during a group conversation. Despite the fact that WhatsApp’s member limit had been increased, the feature is delayed for a long time.

Users Can Now Mute Anyone During Group Call
The new feature was announced by William Cathcart, the Head of WhatsApp at Meta, via a post on his Twitter account participants in a group chat can mute someone who forgot to turn off or has mistakenly turned on their microphone. This feature can save everyone else the misery of having to listen to them. All call participants will have the power to mute any person. No one else in the group will be able to hear them, regardless of who mutes them. A mute icon will appear next to the muted person’s name to indicate this.
WhatsApp Now Allows You to Message Specific Person During Group Call
Another change to the group call UI is that when on a group call, WhatsApp now allows you to message specific people. WhatsApp is also rolling out a new banner that will alert users if someone joins a call after it has already started.

Muting someone in a group conversation appears to be straightforward; all you have to do is touch on the proper person’s name during the call, then select whether to mute or send a personal SMS.
In related news, Whatsapp revealed that the option to transfer chats from Android to iOS will be available shortly. It’s possible that you’ll be able to transfer your discussions from Android to iOS. This can be done without the use of any third-party apps. The feature is now in the testing stage. Moreover, beta users will be among the first to try out the new features.
