Vivo has launched its latest smartphone, the Vivo Y78 5G, in Singapore. The device had already made its debut in China earlier this month, but the global variant comes with distinct specifications, including a different display and chipset. While the Chinese variant of the Vivo Y78 5G is powered by a Dimensity 930 SoC, the global variant features a Snapdragon 695 SoC.
Additionally, the phone in Singapore sports an OLED display instead of the IPS LCD display found in its Chinese counterpart. However, the company is yet to announce plans for the phone’s release in India.

Vivo Y78: Price And Availability
The Vivo Y78 5G will be available in two colour options, namely Dreamy Gold and Flare Black, in Singapore. The pricing details have not yet been revealed by the company for the Singapore market. In China, the phone starts at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 20,100) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant and goes up to CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 23,700) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.

Specifications
In terms of specifications, the Vivo Y78 5G is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13. It features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with curved edges and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The display boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits. Under the hood, the phone features an octa-core Snapdragon 695 SoC, with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage.
In the camera department, the Vivo Y78 5G sports a triple rear camera setup, led by a 64-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization. The primary sensor is accompanied by dual 2-megapixel sensors. For selfies and video calls, the phone offers a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
Connectivity options on the Vivo Y78 5G include dual SIM support, 5G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The phone also supports NFC and OTG features. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 44W Flash Charge support. Additionally, the phone features a fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, compass, and gyroscope. Lastly, the Vivo Y78 5G measures 164.24 × 74.79 × 7.89mm and weighs 177g.
