  • Twitter is working on a new feature that allows users to share their tweets with their trusted friends. Instagram’s Close Friends feature is comparable to the feature being tested. Only Instagram allows you to limit your stories to close friends, but Twitter is planning to do it as well. Early design ideas for the microblogging site’s new “trusted friends” and Facets features were shared. The Trusted feature allows users to select a particular audience, and Facets can be used to categorize tweets.

The Trusted Friends feature may be the most helpful of all the new features that Twitter appears to be working on. You may sometimes send out tweets that you do not want particular people to see. Somebody from your company or your personal circle could be the cause. Some people keep different accounts for their personal and professional lives, but once the Trusted Friends feature is implemented, you won’t need to keep two accounts.

Twitter designer Andrew Courter wrote in a post sharing the feature’s early designs, “We hear y’all, toggling your Tweets from public to protected, juggling alt accounts. It could be simpler to talk to who you want when you want. With Trusted Friends, you could Tweet to a group of your choosing. Perhaps you could also see trusted friends’ Tweets first.”

You can control who has access to your tweet using this feature. According to The Verge, Twitter will most likely include a toggle that allows you to choose who you want to share your content with. Users can categorize their tweets into personal and professional categories using Twitter’s Facets feature, which is currently in beta.

There is another feature that Twitter is working on and calling it “Facets”. This is an early experiment at tweeting from multiple personas from a single account. The feature would be useful for people who frequently tweet about many aspects of their lives, such as their work, side hustles, personal lives or families, passions, and so on.
