Twitter has begun to roll out Super Follows, a new feature that allows users to charge a small fee for content that is only available to subscribers. Creators can only send tweets to Super Followers, and such tweets will only surface in the feeds of those subscribers. The feature, which was introduced in February, is presently only available on Twitter’s iOS app and is only available to a select number of users in the United States who applied to participate in a test group.

Twitter Super Follows
Twitter users on iOS in the United States and Canada may Super Follow the first test group’s accounts. When Super Followers react to tweets, a badge displays under their name, identifying them to creators. In the coming weeks, Twitter aims to expand the feature’s availability on iOS to more countries, and it will also be available on Android and the web.

In February, the company announced plans to generate at least $7.5 billion (approximately Rs. 54,780 crores) in annual income and 315 million monetisable daily active users (mDAU) by the end of 2023, which comprised tipping and paid subscriptions to Super Follows select accounts.
Through Twitter’s Super Follows, creators can charge $2.99 (approximately Rs. 220), $4.99 (about Rs. 360), or $9.99 (roughly Rs. 730) per month to monetise extra, behind-the-scenes content for their most active followers.

People who may not have the Super Follows feature can sign up for a waitlist; via the Twitter app’s monetization menu. People must have at least 10,000 followers, be at least 18 years old, have tweeted 25 times in the last 30 days, live in the United States, and meet Twitter’s Super Follows policy to be eligible.
