Xiaomi seems to be getting ready to launch their Redmi K50 series of devices in China soon. The series smartphones have been in the leaks for quite some time now. With each passing day, the brand has been teasing the series launch more and more. The series will include four models, namely the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro+ and Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. Now, we get an official confirmation about the series launch.

Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing took to his official Weibo handle to reveal confirm the Redmi K50 series launch. Going by his tweet, he was actually going to reveal the official launch date for the upcoming series today itself. However, apparently, the marketing team stopped him from doing so. Going by this, we can actually expect the upcoming series to launch pretty soon!

As per the teasers posted by Weibing, the series may go official as soon as later on this month itself. The exact launch date is currently under wraps. Noted tipster Abhishek Yadav believes that the series will most likely go official before February 25 2022.

Talking about the pricing, we get to know about it as well, courtesy of tipster @Shadow_Leak. According to him, the standard Redmi K50 will cost CNY 1,999 which is around Rs. 23,600. Next in line, the K50 Pro will be priced at CNY 2,699 which is roughly Rs. 31,800. On the other hand, the K50 Pro+ will cost CNY 3,299 which is approximately Rs. 38,900. Lastly, the Gaming Edition is expected to be priced at CNY 3,499 which converts to Rs. 41,300.

The standard K50 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. In addition, we will also get to see 67W fast charging support on the handset. On the other hand, the K50 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8000 SoC. Also, on the K50 Pro, we will reportedly get to see 66W fast charging tech.

Meanwhile, the Redmi K50 Pro+ will reportedly carry the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. Talking about fast charging, it is expected to offer a whopping 120W fast charging support. Finally, the K50 Gaming Edition will be powered by the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It will offer a 120W fast charging support as well.

While the chipset and fast charging tech sets the four models apart, the handsets will be similar on the display front. The handsets are expected to feature a big 6.67-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display. Additionally, we can also expect to see a fast 120Hz refresh rate panel.

The K50 Gaming Edition is expected to pack a 4,700mAh battery. Talking about optics, leaks suggest the presence of a triple rear camera setup on all the four models. In terms of software, we are most likely looking at Android 12 running handsets. There will also be the MIUI 13 custom skin on top.
