Realme Working On 300W Charging Technology For Smartphones

Realme is making great strides in fast-charging technology. In a recent interview with YouTuber TheTechChap, Realme Global head of marketing Francis Wong said that the company is currently working on a 300W charging technology. The company’s biggest competitor, Xiaomi, showcased its 300W fast-charging technology last year, and Realme is working on a solution to this.

In February last year, Redmi introduced 300W charging using the updated Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition smartphone with a 4,100mAh battery. This charging process charged the entire battery in less than five minutes. Although it was just a prototype device that never made its debut globally.

To compete with Xiaomi, Realme has teased it is working on a 300W charging solution, but it has not revealed any details. Furthermore, there is no clarity on whether this technology will ever make its way into consumer devices

Realme GT Neo 5 Fast Charging

Realme GT Neo 5 has a 4,600mAh battery, which Realme already offers 240W charging. This can be charged from empty to 20 per cent full in 80 seconds, from empty to 100.

Moreover, the company claims every 50 parts are full in four minutes, and from empty to 240W, 100 per cent are full in less than ten minutes. It offers two hours of talk time with only 30 seconds of charging. A smartphone with 300W charging could offer even faster charging speeds, theoretically reaching 0 to 100 per cent in just 5 minutes.

The Realme GT Neo 5 is available for CNY 3,199, or approx 39,000 rupees. It is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and features a 6.74-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. Moreover, It also features a triple rear camera setup. It has a 16-megapixel selfie camera, a 50-megapixel main sensor, and up to 1TB of storage.
