Realme India has scheduled a broadcast event on April 7 and among other products, the Realme GT 2 Pro smartphone will be announced. This phone was first launched in China earlier this year. The global launch took place recently and has a very unique design. Realme aims to reduce carbon emissions and contribute toward greener earth with the new sustainable phone design. Realme has partnered with global materials company Sabic to work on this phone’s design.
The phone feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and a 2K AMOLED display. It will be a major competitor to the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G in India. Read on to know more about the pricing details, the launch date and the features of the phone.

GT 2 Pro Design Analysis
The developers and designers will use an industry-first bio-based polymer design for the Realme GT 2 Pro. It will be the world’s first smartphone to come with a TCO 9.0 certification. This is one of the most prestigious sustainability certifications for IT products. The phone comes with a paper technology design, developed in association with Japanese designers Naoto Fukasawa and Sabic.
The phone comes with a punch-hole cutout on the front for the selfie snapper and has narrow bezels. The power button is present on the right and the volume rocker is on the left. It has a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and primary microphone at the bottom. The back of the phone has a rectangular-camera module for a triple-camera setup. It will be available in two colour variants – Green and White.

Realme GT 2 Pro Specifications and Features
The GT 2 Pro features a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED LTPO 2.0 display with 120Hz refresh rate, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, HDR10+, 1,400nits brightness, and MEMC. The phone comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset powers the phone while the Adreno GPU supports the graphics. The phone can support up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage which is not expandable further. The phone runs on Android 12 based Realme UI 3.0 custom skin out of the box.

The phone is equipped with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res audio certification, an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, and a punch-hole cutout. For connectivity, the phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and NFC, and has a USB Type-C port. The dimensions of the phone are 163.2 x 74.7 x 8.18mm and it weighs 189 grams.
The phone has a triple-camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 150-degree FoV, and a 40X microscopic lens. The front camera for selfies and video chats has a 32-megapixel capacity.

GT 2 Pro Launch Date and Expected Price
The Realme GT 2 Pro will launch in India on April 7, 2022, at 12 PM IST. The launch event will be broadcast on their official YouTube channel. However, the company has not revealed the exact pricing details of the phone yet. In the Chinese market, the phone comes for RMB 3699 (approximately Rs. 43,400). So, we can expect the phone to come with a price tag of around Rs. 40,000 when it launches in India. It might rival the similar OnePlus 10 Pro 5G which has a price of Rs. 66,999 in India.
