  • Ever since its launch, the constant availability of PS5 has been a major issue for gamers and the company both. Chip shortage issues as well as the ongoing pandemic have affected the stocking of this popular gaming console. A report by Bloomberg even says that Sony had reverted back to producing the old PS4 to battle the PS5 shortage throughout the world. Fans and gamers from India would be happy to know that a PS5 restock will happen on April 22, 2022, at 12PM IST. This restock, is, however, exclusive for the Indian market.

    Industry insider Rishi Alwani has shared a tweet saying that PS5 will be available for pre-order later this week.

    Players would also be able to buy a PS5 + Gran Turismo 7 bundle on the same day.

    The PS5 Digital Edition costs Rs.39,990 and the PS5 costs Rs.49,990 in India. They will be available at several online stores, including ShopAtSC, Flipkart, Amazon, Croma, Reliance Digital, Games The Shop, and Vijay Sales. In addition, several offline retailers would have the console too. Pre-orders are expected to open later this week, and you can book yours online. The PS5 will go live for sale on these websites on April 22 from 12:00PM IST.

    However, since there is no news of how many units will be available online, it might be a great idea to pre-order a PS5 from a local retailer. In most cases, PS5 is sold out within a few minutes before everyone can get hold of them. In fact, there have been times when many pre-booked orders were cancelled because of limited stocks.

    Sony offers the PS5 in two different configurations – the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. The PS5 Digital Edition lacks a disk drive for games and only runs on files loaded digitally onto it from the PlayStation Store.

    An octa-core CPU with Zen 2, along with AMD RDNA 2 GPU powers both the PS5, allowing it to run at 10.28 TFLOPS. They come with 16GB GDDR6 RAM and 825GB of internal storage along with an NVMe SSD slot that can be used for storage expansion with compatible PS5 SSDs. The PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4, meaning that users can play PS4 games on the PS5.
