Recently, a potato trader from Kota (Rajasthan) has reportedly purchased a BSNL VIP number that ends with six zeros in a row. As per the sources, he has purchased the prestigious number for Rs 2.4 lakh.
BSNL, the telecom operator is having a hard time for the past few months. Plus, it has already lost its market share in the Indian wireless subscriber segment in August and September. That being said, there are still few VIP numbers that holds a prestigious value in the market. It carries value for people who like to contain appealing contact details.

BSNL VIP phone number Bought for Rs 2.4 lakh
As per the leading Hindi newspaper, NavBharat Times, a BSNL VIP number with digits XXX7000000 was up for sale on BSNL’s online portal. On this portal, people can bid in auctions for such numbers. The number was on the site for a week, where various auction bidders bid for it. The bid for the number initially started at Rs. 20,000 and finally went beyond Rs. 2 lakh (Rs. 2,00,000).

The auction was then finally won by Tanuj Dudeja from Kota, a potato trader by profession. He got the mobile number after submitting the winning bid amount i.e. Rs. 2.4 lakhs in the BSNL office in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh. The new owner of the said BSNL mobile number also collected the number from Farrukhabad only.
According to a BSNL employee, Mr Dudeja loves to keep VIP mobile numbers. The Rs 2.4 lakh BSNL VIP number is his second buy as he had also purchased a different number for Rs 1 lakh previously.
