OPPO has unveiled the latest software update, exclusively for the Chinese market. This is built on Android 15 and is described as “super light and more comfortable” by the company. The latest ColorOS 15 update will feature a fresh design language inspired by natural light and shadow. This latest update from OPPO introduces a revamped user interface (UI) featuring new dynamic effects, elements inspired by natural light and shadows, and updated iconography.

The ColorOS 15 update leverages the Aurora and Tidal Engines to run app animations simultaneously, enhancing the multitasking experience. ColorOS 15 introduces a range of AI-powered features. It can analyze on-screen content, answer queries, and offer suggestions like travel plans. The Notes app benefits from text formatting and summarization capabilities, while the document scanner gains the ability to summarize and translate content.
The Photos app also benefits from AI enhancements with this ColorOS 15 update, with features like one-tap removal of people and reflections, portrait blur removal, and image upscaling. Other enhancements include new gestures for the smart floating window, reversible photo album editing, separate notification and control centers, and the ability to automatically delete OTP messages.

The latest update ColorOS 15 will be available out of the box on the OPPO Find X8 series and OnePlus 13 in China. The roll out for this will begin in November for some models, and subsequently for other models in December 2024, January 2025, February 2025, and then March 2025.
