A few weeks ago, OnePlus announced that it will be hosting a closed Open Ears Forum (OEF). During the forum, they would discuss the plans for OxygenOS 13 with select OnePlus and OxygenOS users. Well, the company has now posted some details of the OEF. It has also revealed how it plans to work on some parts of Oxygen OS 13.
Although they did give the first look to the upcoming iteration, it is unfortunately under NDA. The only thing we know for sure now is that it will be basing itself on Android 13. But, now, OnePlus has posted some snippets from the discussion. Here’s what we know so far:

OnePlus Details its Plan for OxygenOS 13
In the post, OnePlus explains that the development of OxygenOS 13 is well underway. The company shared that it will work with OnePlus users hand-in-hand to develop OxygenOS 13. OnePlus also shared some of the features that it will bring to the operating system.

The company has listed a few follow-up actions after the feedback received from participants. It gives us a brief idea of how the company plans to work on the development of OxygenOS 13.
- Improve UI personalisation and consistency.
- Improve system consistency and more optimised functions path
- Add more features in AOD (like Music Player).
- Optimised Zen Mode to provide users with a more immersive and efficient experience.
- Positive communication with community members (like optimising CBT projects, more OEF, and so on).
Furthermore, in aid to clear confusion on the merger, they said this:
“Under the background of integration, OxygenOS and ColorOS are two products with their strengths. When facing strong competitors in the global market, combining the strengths of both is the only way to truly leverage the strengths of the OPPO & OnePlus and provide better products to our customers. The OS teams are fully integrated into one and ready to collaborate and learn from each other’s experience; together we will build OS products hand in hand”.

In addition to revealing details about OxygenOS 13, OnePlus also admitted that the OxygenOS 12 release was not all that well. According to the company, it didn’t meet its expectations and it will improve going forward with OxygenOS 13.
